It was an honour to be invited to judge the club’s 30th anniversary championship show. I have been involved in the Cesky Terrier breed for over 32 years, judging and exhibiting around the world. Thank you to the executive for this wonderful invitation.
I had some lovely exhibits to choose from and found the strength in entry to favour the dogs over the bitches. As with any entry, I observed some wonderful, well-proportioned dogs, some ideal toplines (that maintained on the move) , good underjaw, and overall size. The Veterans were strong contenders. Overall, a very pleasing (and challenging) entry. The Cesky Terrier breed is well attended and in great hands of these breeders and exhibitors of this club.
My Best in Show & Dog CC winner was (Goodwin) It CH Placido Proper Player of Bleuetopia, a 4 yr old dog of impressive quality and shape. His overall conformation is of a well-muscled, sound boy with excellent proportions. Nicely balanced throughout with nicely proportioned head, good sturdy muzzle, dark eye, and good earset and size. Neck is the ideal size set well into his shoulders. Front legs well under, straight and of good balance of length with upper arm. Good amount of sternum, chest oval, and good length of rib, with a tight loin. Topline displaying a correct, gentle rise on the stack and on the move. Happy in the ring, he presented good reach and drive, covering ground efficiently.
My Reserve Best in Show & Bitch CC was (Tobijanski) CH Janski Zara Zipporah, 2 years old, exhibiting good size, and nice oblong shape. A lot in a little, this girl has a correct amount of bone for her size. Lovely headpiece, balanced, with good ear set, dark eye and good amount of underjaw. Pleasant nature and showy, with good movement.
Best Veteran went to (Tobijanski) CH Janski Bugurovski, an 8 yr old dog. Nicely balanced, with his physical attributes all contributing to his effortless movement. Strong topline for this 8 yr old. Would prefer a slightly shorter loin.
Reserve Best Veteran (Dukes) CH Placido Musical Miracle at Runiks, 7 yr old bitch. Feminine, nicely put together, with soft expression. Good length of neck and build that offers a lovely profile. Efficient mover with nice reach and drive.
LD – 1st – (Pearson) Winoski Aemond nice young boy exhibiting ideal profile, good length of neck, blending into well placed shoulders. Nice gradual topline with proper tailset.

OD-1st – It CH Placido Proper Player of Bleuetopia - see BOB (above). 2nd – (Sampson) Talyot Magnus to Silak – Excellent type, sound mover, covering ground effortlessly. Well proportioned with masculine head, lovely ear set and size, dark eye, and powerful jaw. Strength without coarseness. Close 2nd to my first choice, each having things I liked over the other.
ChD-1st-RCC-(Tobijanski) CH Janski O’rolox JW-Sturdy, with good shape and size. Strong head with good length. Good bite. Good mover and enjoyed himself in the ring.
VD-1st- (Tobijanski) CH Janski Bugurovski see BVIS above. 2nd- (Dukes) Janski Theodore by Runiks Sound dog of good proportions. Strong neck with good front assembly, sturdy throughout. Good temperament, he enjoyed his day in the ring.
GCD-1st- (Marett) Jer CH Idefix Day Break at Gayteckles (KCJ) This 12 yr old entry is a sturdy dog with good movement. Held his topline in movement. Substantial throughout, with solid dimensions of a hunting terrier.
JB-1st- (Halling) Ridley Beatrix Young girl of ideal shape and size for her age. Well proportioned, feminine throughout with lovely balance. Moved well, although needs some ringwork to keep her head in the game. Good temperament, enjoying her experience in the ring. Looking for more from this young girl. 2nd – (Lee) Ridley Bronya Littermate to my first pick. Slightly different shape and size than her sister. She has lovely features, very feminine with similar movement and temperament to my 1st pick. Slightly longer, but also moved well, and also, could use some ring training to keep her on track in the ring.
LB-1st- (Halling) Wherrypoint Gloria Very nice shape and size. Lovely balance. Head nicely proportioned, perfect length of neck leading into well placed shoulders. Good front assembly with correct balance in length of upper arm. Excellent balance of rib to loin. Good set-on of tail and carriage. Good movement. 2nd (Goodwin) Bleuetopia Arsha It JCh JWW’26 Lovely size and balance throughout. Very feminine with good proportions. Slightly finer-boned than I prefer, but nice size. Good bite, lovely ear placement, and nice, dark, almond-shaped eye. Perfect length of neck, good shoulders and nice balance of rib to loin. Topline is perfectly gradual with well set-on tail. Topline and tail hold very well in movement, with good reach and drive. A very close second to my winner.
OB-1st – (Dukes) Runiks Akreepa of Dragons good outline, balanced, with good bite, nicely build while maintaining a feminine profile throughout. Good length of neck, nice topline and good tail placement. Could be a bit more confident. 2nd – (Goodwin) Placido Oniana at Bleuetopia 5 yr old bitch, good bite, nice dark eye, and well-placed ears of correct size. Well muscled rear and good tail carriage. A happy girl!
ChB - 1st- (Tobijanski) CH Janski Zara Zipporah (see above) 2nd- (Marett) Jer CH Gayteckles Musical Melody 6yr old bitch, sturdy girl with good balance and well angled. Nicely proportioned in upper arm to leg length and good rear. Perfect tail set. Prefer a slightly smaller bitch, but proportions are good.

VB- 1st –(Dukes) CH Placido Musical Miracle at Runiks pleasing bitch with good size and profile. Has matured well. Good mover with nice reach and drive. Slightly unsure of herself, which can be an issue with veterans who do not show often. 2nd (Sampson) CH Silak Shasgav Sound of Silence ShCM ShCEx VW another nice veteran, with good outline, structure and topline. Nice head with a very pleasing expression. Proportions are lovely. Very tight race between 1st and 2nd.
Sally Brown Memorial Stakes – 1st - (Tobijanski) CH Janski O’rolox JW – see Champion Dog (above) – 2nd (Goodwin) Bleuetopia Arsha It JCh JWW’26 – see Limited Bitch (above)

Special Handling Class (up to 10 yrs) Harri Maximillian Williams – expert handling by Master Harri Maximillian Williams. By far, the youngest handler I have ever had the pleasure to judge. A true and courteous sportsman, Master Harri navigated his exhibit with only minor assistance and shows great promise as he hones his craft. Well done Harri…you were a real show-stopper!
Special Handling Class (10-18 yrs) – Ella Tobijanski – handled her exhibit with expertise, following instruction with ease. She moved at the appropriate pace to show her dog at its best. Her presentation on the table was flawless and when asked to show the bite, she moved with clean and efficient movements, giving the judge exactly what was needed. Her timing was spot-on. Well done for such a young lady!
Special Handling Class (18 yrs plus) – Jennifer Goodwin. Great ring presence, she moved effortlessly with her dog, and presented dog and handler as a perfect team. She made eye contact with the judge to communicate her understanding of the directions she was being given. A good balance of attention to her dog and watching the judge. Another great performance.
Brace – Tobijanski – always a challenging class, this brace, although differing in size, showed brilliantly. They moved very well together, and clearly presented a picture of type in dog and bitch. I think asking them to go up on the table threw the handler for a brief moment, but she managed with ease. Thank you for making the effort and presenting this class. Well done!!!
